Flannel Moth Caterpillar (Megalopygidae), not doing a very good job of hiding. Then again, it doesn't need to hide, since it is covered in venomous hairs (Peruvian Amazon).

Large (2-inch) Cockroach, well-camouflaged within a rotting log. Out of the 4500+ species of cockroaches, only a couple of dozen kinds enter our homes. Most are harmless forest dwellers like this one. Interestingly, their closest insect relatives are the termites, which are also in the order Blattodea (Peruvian Amazon).
